2 tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in pure mathematics

As a part of an effort to create an internationally renowned group in the mathematical sciences, OIST invites applications for at least two tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in Pure Mathematics. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in mathematics and scholarly accomplishments appropriate to those of a faculty member at a research-intensive university. Positions will have flexible starting dates in summer 2019 or later. Matters of rank and salary will be decided commensurate with qualifications. The standard teaching load at OIST is one semester-long graduate course per year. OIST provides faculty members with funding for postdoctoral scholars, travel, visitors, and for organizing conferences and workshops held at OIST.

The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) is a research institution with a Ph.D. program and is beautifully situated on the tropical island of Okinawa, Japan. Both our graduate student body as well as faculty are outstanding and very international in composition. OIST is an institution with no departments, aiming to eliminate barriers between people working in different fields.
