As a part of an effort to create an internationally renowned group in the mathematical sciences, OIST invites applications for a Visiting Professor and Excellence Chair in Pure Mathematics. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in mathematics and academic standing equivalent to Associate or Full Professor at a research-intensive university. The position has a flexible term of 4 to 12 months taken continuously between 1 April 2019 and March 30, 2020, with a flexible starting date. The appointment may be taken while on leave or sabbatical from another university, and comes with salary, housing, research funds and moving allowance. No teaching duties come with the positions. Each awardee has the opportunity to organize a mini-symposium funded and hosted by the institute.
