The School for Mathematics and Statistics, and its partner the Centre of Excellence for Biosecurity Risk Analysis (CEBRA) are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Research Fellow to lead cutting-edge research in method development, implementation and analysis of regulatory data.

The position offers a rare opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary environment amongst statisticians, economists and biologists, while also allowing the development of an individual research agenda. The successful applicant will be exposed to exciting and relevant problems in the area of biosecurity risk analysis, and have the opportunity to not only work on the applied side of these problems, but also be able to use these as motivation for branching out to new areas of methodological development.

To be considered for the position you will have a PhD, or equivalent research higher degree in statistics, or interdisciplinary computational statistics research in ecology or a related area. You will have strong computer programming skills in R and experience in statistical analysis. For further details regarding the selection criteria please see the position description.
