Curtin University

The School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences (EECMS)

Closing date: 2nd March 2020

School of Electrical Engineering

The School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences (EECMS) was formed in 2018 combining the quantitative disciplines across the Faculty of Science and Engineering, marrying Curtin's expertise in Computational Sciences, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Quantum Physics and Astronomy.

EECMS has a vibrant research culture and an active approach to learning, and teaches practically oriented undergraduate courses that are highly regarded by industry. The teaching and research programs in EECMS underpin the Curtin Institute of Computation, the Curtin-led ARC Industrial Training Centre for Transforming Maintenance through Data Science, the Curtin-CISCO Centre for Networks and the Curtin-Optus Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence.

Our School is committed to making tomorrow better. It is a beacon for innovation, driving advances in technology through high impact research and offering more than 100 practical, industry aligned courses to the workplaces of tomorrow.

Your new role

As Lecturer, you will conduct research and deliver lectures, practical and tutorial classes, particularly in areas of direct relevance to predictive analytics, applied statistics, and computational methods at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Your teaching will be underpinned by an active research program involving a mix of both fundamental contributions to new data science and statistical methodologies, and demand-driven research with industry, government, and other disciplines beyond the mathematical sciences. By fostering strong external partnerships, you will pursue innovative research that drives real-world impact and inspires students.
