The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Algebra (Level A) to conduct research in a collaborative research team based at the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney. This role will report in to Associate Professor, James Parkinson, carrying out scientific research and preparing and presenting scientific results in papers and conferences based around a research programme in algebra (in particular Kazhdan-Lusztig Theory) associated to the ARC discovery project P200100712 (New Directions in Hecke Algebras).
The successful candidate will also be co-supervising undergraduate and graduate research students, assisting in the recruitment of research students and continuously working towards attracting new funding. Additionally, you will help to coordinate the research of different researchers and eventually apply for independent research fellowship and collaborative research funding.
