Grade 7: £32,817 - £40,322 p.a.
Applications are invited for a full-time Statistical Consultant reporting to the Director of Statistical Consultancy Services. The post holder will be a member of Oxford University Statistical Consulting team with responsibility for undertaking consultancy projects.
The Statistical Consultant's main duties and responsibilities will include: liaising with clients to understand their needs in the domain of statistics and data analysis; formulating and solving their statistical problems; interpreting and delivering the results of the statistical analysis as well as developing and delivering the appropriate code and software where required. The Statistical Consultant will be expected to provide bespoke statistical analysis and advice for stakeholders regarding their products, services and processes. This will include both general data analysis as well as specialist methodological advice.
A Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computing or a related subject is required for Grade 6. Grade 7 applicants would require a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific subject. The Statistical Consultant will also have strong programming skills, possess sufficient specialist knowledge to undertake a wide range of statistical consultancy projects, have the ability to manage their own projects and associated activities independently and possess engaging communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
This post is fixed-term for 3 years in the first instance.
If no suitable applicants are identified on a Grade 7, an appointment on Grade 6 (£29,176 - £34,804 p.a.) with an appropriate adjustment in the duties may be considered.
