Fellowship Benefits

Accreditation as a Fellow of the Australian Mathematical Society brings significant benefits, both to the Fellow and to the Society.

Recognition and prestige

Join an elite group of senior mathematicians recognized for their contributions to research, teaching and application of mathematics and also their leadership of the profession. Also your membership of this elite group will add to the prestige of the Society.

Current Fellows are listed at http://www.austms.org.au/Fellows

Status

Accreditation as a Fellow will signify your professionalism and expertise to a diverse range of organisations and people. These include other professionals from academic disciplines, mathematicians based overseas, your graduates and their employers, and representatives from government, industry and business.

Profile

The usage of the FAustMS affix after your name on your stationary, business cards and email will raise your profile and that of the Society. It will help facilitate your professional relationships and increase knowledge of, and respect for, the Society in the community.

Role model

As a FAustMS you represent an important and identifiable role model for early career researchers in the mathematics profession. Fellows should be willing to mentor early career Society members and encourage eligible non-members to join the Society
