WIMSIG Conference 2017: Celebration of Women in Australian Mathematical Sciences

Conference Location, Maps, and Local Info


The Conference will be held at the University of South Australia, City West Campus, North Terrace, Adelaide.

The Registration Desk will be in the Hawke Building, where the Plenary Talks and morning/afternoon teas will all take place.

The Professional Development Workshop will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 24 September in the Hawke Building too.

The Conference Reception will be held on the night of Sunday 24 September in the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery, Hawke Building, during the Li Xu exhibition.

The Conference Dinner will be held on the night of Monday 25 September at the National Wine Centre, approximately 2.3 km (29 min walk) to the east of the City West Campus.

NB: A secure storage area for luggage will be available throughout the conference.

Public Transport

For bus, train, and tram timetables, we recommend you visit Adelaide Metro and use the "Journey Planner", where there is a convenient map and a selection of times and routes to suit.

For the Conference Dinner on Monday evening: To get from the main Conference venue in the Hawke Building to the National Wine Centre, a convenient bus is the 281. Walk about three minutes from the Hawke Building to stop C1 on the north side of North Terrace. The bus runs east along North Terrace. Alight at Stop 1 on Botanic Rd. The bus trip will take about 17 minutes. The fare (after 3pm) is $3.50. You can pay in cash (exact change requested) or buy a Metrocard in advance. Metrocards are widely available at newsagents, convenience stores, etc.
