Hanna Neumann: A Mathematician in Difficult Times

Hanna Neumann (1914-1971) was the first woman appointed as a professor of mathematics in Australia, taking up the newly created chair of Pure Mathematics in the ANU School of General Studies in 1964.

Dr Peter Neumann (son of Hanna Neumann) gave a lecture at Gresham College, based partly on his own memories of his mother and partly on archival records.

Perimeter Scholars

Each year, Canada’s Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics recruits approximately 30 exceptional science graduates for an immersive, 10-month physics boot camp, known as Perimeter Scholars International (PSI).

This unique Master’s program seeks not only students with stellar undergraduate physics track records, but also those with diverse backgrounds, collaborative spirit, creativity, and other attributes that will set them apart as future innovators.

The STIMulate team at Queensland University of Technology is currently seeking an Assistant Learning Support Coordinator (up to 3 positions) in the maths stream. This is a Level A academic position, fixed term until Dec 2017.
